I don't really like this price drop since I'm sitting on 60 ecto in storage, but I guess it would go back up eventually. Meanwhile I'll try to stock up on some more.

I'm sitting in anticipation for the Guild Wars 'Merchant Street Crash' that everyone was thinking was about to happen two or so months ago. But the prices re-stablilised back then...the selling of ectos and buying of rubies and sapphires decreased. It seems a lot of people bought their rubies/sapphires, but became uncertain and so sold them as they were getting fairly high. Now...one month before Factions...here comes the ecto crash! As people see prices dropping they'll panic sell so as not to lose all that ecto money nearly completely. I hope the crash will happen this time, I want to see ectos finally leave the market after being almost a currency for the rich for so long.

shesh you guys are all pesimists, how do you know ectos are getting cheaper? maybe gold is simply more valuable? Have you ever thought of it that way? Maybe worth of gold has gone up.

It's simple. Ectos are no longer the item of choice (with shards) to purchase the armor people want. Therefore, people dump ectos for the gold to take into factions and go nuts with.

sorry to pop your bubble on this.

check out common / rare crafting materials and compare the ecto slide to them.

if gold were more valuable there would be an across the board drop in prices.

Also as I said before, most farmers are from U.S. and Korean…etc, as result most ebay seller and buyer are from U.S. as well. Also remember whithout buyer, there will be no seller.

Alright, well, to the original poster... the prices of ectos have been sliding for a bit now. I think that the main reasons are market uncertainty, with Factions, and the new glut of 55 point farmers in UW.

60 ecto isn't that bad. u only lose about 175-250k if they never go up again.
